What is Alpha Hydroxy Acid?
Pronounced alfəhī dräksē ‘asəd. Alpha Hydroxy Acid or typically referred to as AHA, are a group of naturally occurring, water-soluble acids, found in sugary fruits. The acids that fall in this group are: Glycolic Acid (sugar cane), Lactic Acid (milk), Tartaric Acid (grapes), Citric Acid (citrus fruits), Malic Acid (apples) and Mandel Acid (almond).
What will it do?
Most known for their ability to reverse the signs of aging due to their exfoliating benefits — these acids are great at removing dirt and dead skin cells from the surface of your skin. Helps with: discoloration or hyperpigmentation, reduces blemishes, pore size, restores hydration, increases plumpness and fades wrinkles/fine lines.
Ingredient Tip
If you have sensitive or dry skin I would be cautious about these acids by working up to daily use because they can irritate your skin. Use sunscreen with this ingredient.
