Overnight Masks: Use ‘Em or Lose ‘Em?
Are overnight masks worth it? I was curious about the hype. I didn’t quite understand what they did, or if they were any different than a normal PM moisturizer.
What i’ve learned: they are typically known for hydration, but are often infused with other ingredients for specific concerns (ie. firming, exfoliating, brightening, etc). The reason why people love them so much is because they are formulated a bit different than normal masks, where it has more time to penetrate the skin, ultimately giving better result, waking up with a nice plump fresh face
I like to use these masks in colder or dryer months, as it gives my skin an extra boost of moisture. Recommend using them about 1-3 time a week. I typically wear them in place of a PM moisturizer, but you can layer them if the combo isn’t too oily/heavy.

My absolute favorite night treatment right now is Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil. It’s main ingredient is retinol oil which helps improve redness, wrinkles and reduces the size of your pores. There is so much about this oil that I love. It just melts right into the skin not leaving me feeling super greasy, and I wake up with an even skin tone and skin that isn’t flakey. I use this oil almost every night in replace of a moisturizer.
I really love REN’s Overnight Recovery Balm and how it just melts into the skin. It tackles redness, dryness and uneven texture — basically all of my issues! What’s great about this product is that it’s made up of oils (almond, olive, linseed and borage) that helps skin, help balance itself. I also really like supporting brands that use ‘clean’ ingredients and don’t test on animals.
