Mandelic Acid


What is Mandelic Acid?

Pronounced `man-ˌdel-ik. It’s an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that’s derived from bitter almonds. It’s an ingredient that is more gentle than the other AHAs.

What will it do?

It’s a great anti-aging ingredient, as it helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines by removing dead skin from the surface of your skin. It also helps strengthen collagen. Mandelic acid also helps with hyperpigmentation by evening our your skin tone if you have dark spots or discoloration. Lastly this gentle giant helps with acne by regulating sebum production.

Ingredient Tip

If you have cystic acne this ingredient may be good to incorporate into your skincare routine. Use this ingredient in the evening before you moisturize. With any sort of AHA product you need to make sure you’re using SPF, as it makes your skin very sensitive to sunlight. Also introduce products using this ingredient slowly into your routine.
