I heard so many positive things about The Ordinary’s Hyaluronic Acid that I had to test it myself. Not gonna lie, I was a bit scared that it was going to break me out due to it intense hydrating benefit — I had never used this ingredient before, I know, gasp! I didn’t know that Hyaluronic Acid was the perfect ingredient to pair with AHAs, BHAs, Retinol and Vitamin C. I use acids regularly within my routine to help clear up congestion and help even my skins texture. Because of this, my face stays pretty red all the damn time. I was actually getting a bit nervous and desperate that my face was morphing into a permanent state of splotchy red-ness! For the last few months I was constantly trying to neutralize the skin with oils and overnight masks, but wasn’t thinking about the root cause, my acids.

The name Hyaluronic Acid is actually a little misleading because most acids have exfoliating benefits which can be irritating or drying. While this acid actually helps keep the skin hydrated and retains the skins moisture. I decided to use this product for both AM and PM, and when I layered this particular Hyaluronic Acid onto of my treatment step.

For application, I used about a half a dropper to cover my face and neck. The texture of the formula is a gel-like liquid and spreads across the skin very nicely. It doesn’t make your skin sticky and absorption is almost instant, making it very easy to layer my moisturizer on top of it. There wasn’t any fragrance to the product itself, which I love. And it’s a very affordable product! Overall opinion? This acid has been a game changer in reducing the redness in my skin. I saw results after two days of using it. TWO DAYS! If I knew it was this easy, i’d start using this months ago. I wish I too a before and after photo of my skin because it went from a red splotchy mess to my pale winter hue. I urge you to try this product, if anything it can help support healthy hydrated skin.
