2020 Gift Guide for Mom, Mother's Day Edition
Mother’s Day is right around the corner and maybe flowers this year aren’t gonna cut it. So I put together a skin and lifestyle focused gift guide to help you curate the perfect present for mom!
Active lifestyle
Face Wipes. I love using face wipes post workout, a mid-day refresher, or great way to wipe away any dirt/sweat if you’ve been outside all day. Ursa Major Essential Face Wipes are my go to!
Water bottle. As you know, i’m always reminding you to drink more water. I love my Hydracy Sports Bottle since it has a time marker on the side of the bottle so you know how much water you should be drinking every hour.
Sunscreen. Not only does SPF help protect you from burning, but it also slows down the aging process, and what mom (human) doesn’t want that? I highly recommend anything from Supergoop, they are reef safe and don’t use harsh chemicals. My all time favorite product from them is their Unseen Sunscreen which acts as a primer (has a blur effect too), but really all of it is good.
Superfood. I did a review of Mija Superstar for BobCut Magazine’s Big Beauty Edit, and I have to say this matcha mix includes all of the vitamins and nutrients our bodies need to stay balanced. This is the perfect gift to keep your mom looking beautiful from the inside and out!
Luxe/Pampering Lifestyle
Bath Soak. Encourage mom to do a bit of #SelfCare and gift her some bath soaks. Bubbles, salts, milks, bombs — really anything to get her some R+R. I would recommend checking out Goop Beauty’s G. Soak Set.
Body Oil. Saint Jane Beauty Body Serum is the perfect gift for mom. Not only is the packaging beautiful, but the formula is incredibly hydrating which keeps your skin looking and feeling silky!
Eye Mask. I love weighted eye masks (has a similar effect weighted blankets), they just relax me much faster than a traditional eye mask. I love this Jane Inc. Eye Pillow. It’s double sided (cotton and silk) and filled with lavender and flax seed. A perfect way to unwind from the day.
Room/Pillow Mist. Every night before bed I mist the room with Goodnight Pillow Mist by Neal’s Yard Remedies. It’s instantly calming and smells incredible. Notes of lavender, vetiver and mandarin.
Environmentally friendly Lifestyle
Cotton Rounds. In an effort to reduce waste, I would recommend these Reusable Bamboo Cotton Cleansing Pads. They are totally gentle on your skin and even have a little finger slot for easier application.
Natural Sea Sponge. Did you know sea sponges date back to the Roman Empire?! Ditch the plastic loofah’s (stop adding to the landfills) for this Natural Sponge by Package Free. Unlike most brands, I like that they’ve added a string for easy hanging.
Bar Shampoo/Conditioner. Did you know that water-based bath products have a bigger carbon footprint than bar bath products? Not to mention you get to ditch your single use plastics. I would check out ByHumanKind for both shampoo and conditioner bars. They also come with a shower dish!
Overnight Mask. Your mom will thank you for the gift of refreshed skin! I highly recommend Ren’s Overnight Recovery Balm. It supports your skins regeneration process overnight, so you wake up with hydrated, healthy looking sin. Also every bit of their packaging is recyclable, even the lids.
Even thought we’ve been working remotely (most of us) for almost a year, it’s still incredibly important to wear sunscreen. If your new work-from-home station is by a window, guess what, ya need sunscreen! This Supergoop sunscreen is a pretty new product in their collection, and in Supergoop fashion, they are doing some pretty fun things with formula and texture.
