Review: Glow Recipe, Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask
Next sheet mask to review is the K-beauty brand Glow Recipe and their Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask. It’s very similar to their Watermelon Glow Overnight Mask in that it’s hydrating and soothing. I’ve never tried a sheet mask made like this before, it’s totally transparent and really does feel like jelly. It’s as if they’ve taken their watermelon overnight mask and made it congeal into a sheet mask shape, texture and all!
This mask is designed to help bring hydration back into the skin while soothing/de-puffing at the same time. It’s meant to be used as the serum step in your routine. Application for this mask was interesting. I honestly think maybe their overnight mask does a better job of locking in hydration.
What I like About it
Has a nice light watermelon fragrance to it.
Because of the jelly-like quality of this mask, it clings very easily to your skin.
Like that this mask comes in two parts, which makes it easier to adjust to your face.
Maybe because of the material, it creates an instant cooling when it touches your skin.
Starts sticky but serum dries quickly, after you remove the sheets from your face.
What Don’t I like About it
You have to be really gentle with the product during application, the mask can rip very easily.
Similar to their watermelon overnight mask, it’s a little sticky once you remove the sheets from your face.
It’s hard to re-adjust the mask once you’ve applied it. I ripped mine a bit when I tried to adjust.
The serum left around the crown of your head does get in your hair, making it look like you have dandruff
How to use
After you cleanse and tone your skin, remove mask from the tray, carefully unfold and remove the protective plastic backing before you apply. Leave on your skin for 10 mins, peel off and pat in any remaining serum. Follow with a moisturizer.
