Review: Mediental's Botanic Garden Sheet Mask (Broccoli)
Another sheet mask coming at you, from the Medi Heal family of masks. This K-Beauty sheet mask is included in the Mediental Garden Mask collection, five in total, and is supposed to help soothe and bring moisture back into your skin.
I’ve never actually seen broccoli as the star in skincare, so what exactly are the benefits of it? Well it is packed with vitamins and minerals that help keep your skin hydrated which cater to reducing the appearance of your fine lines. Hydration is the really the key benefit here.
I’ve tested many sheet masks now, and i’m realizing that the fun aspect of K-Beauty (interesting ingredients, weird packaging, and new technology) is also the gimmicky aspect of K-Beauty. For this guy, the broccoli ingredient isn’t actually the active ingredient… and it’s way far down in the ingredient list (only having 0.05% of it present). Womp-womp…
This mask is like most, it applies OK, not totally covering all of my face, and a bit hard to keep in place. The mask itself had a nice rose scent to it. About halfway through, my skin started to tingle a little bit, which I wasn’t a fan of. After removing the mask my skin looked really hydrated and more even in tone. The serum didn’t absorb quickly into my skin, so I wouldn’t recommend using it in the AM or before applying makeup. After sitting with the serum on my face for a bit longer, I started to have a warming sensation so I decided to remove the essence completely. Would I recommend this mask? Probably not, I think you can get the same level of hydration with a really good moisturizer.
Tip: If your products are sticky, I would recommend using a face mist to matte it a bit.
What I like About it
It has a very subtle rose fragrance which was pleasant.
My skin looked incredibly hydrated.
Face looked a bit more even in tone, redness was reduced a tad, always a win.
What Don’t I like About it
Application of the mask was meh, it was a little hard to keep it in place
Half-way in the mask started to tingle a bit.
After removing the mask, my face felt sticky for a while. So I would recommend using this at night.
After letting the serum sit on my face a bit more, I got a slight warming sensation so I removed the mask.
There are parabens in it.
How to use
Clean and tone your face. Remove sheet mask from package, unfold and apply evenly to face. Try to remove the air bubbles. Leave on for 15-20mins. Remove mask and rub in any residual essence.
