Bakuchiol
What is Bakuchiol?
Pronounced `baku-chi-ol. Is a natural alternative to retinol. It’s pulled from the seeds and leaves of the psoralea corylifolia plant and is used in skincare. It’s an ingredient that has been used in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine to treat several diseases. When applied topically, it’s found to be less irritating than your traditional retinol and is becoming a popular go-to in the skincare world.
What will it do?
It offers the same benefits as retinol: clears acne, reduces fine lines, and stimulates collagen but may not leave your skin looking red or irritated. In addition to it’s retinol-like benefits, it can also be anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and is an antioxidant.
Tip
This ingredient could be a great starter to AHAs since it’s a bit kinder to your skin.
Challenged my skincare routine by only using the new clean skincare line Biossance for a month. This is my review.
