In Review: A Month of Biossance
I’ve been slowly introducing clean skincare products into my routine, and wanted to check out the line Biossance. Luckily for me, they have a few sample kits to try: Tea Tree Trio, Top Shelfies and Clean Slate. I decided to dive in on their Clean Slate Kit which is priced at $49.00 and contains four products from their collection.
The kit includes a repair cream, an eye gel, a serum and oil with squalane as the main ingredient in all four. Squalane is a natural antioxidant and great for softening and smoothing your skin. It basically locks in moisture to help with fine lines and dry patches. It’s also good to use for your nails and hair.
The kit recommends that you use all four products as your AM and PM routine. I tried to do the whole set at first, but since I have oily skin, found that using both moisturizing products (cream and oil) in the AM was way too heavy for me. Made my makeup just melt off my face, and had to do a lot of blotting. So much blotting… If you have dry or more mature skin, this may not be an issue for you.
With that said, i’m IN LOVE with this product line, or at least the four products I tried. The whole collection transformed my face. My skin tone was evened out, no longer pinkish! My face looked smooth, healthy and hydrated. I’ve been getting so many compliments on my skin since i’ve used this product, it’s without a doubt my new staple brand — can’t stop, wont stop!

My ROUTINE IN THIS ORDER
Cleanser (not Biossance)
I’ve been using my Indie Lee’s cleansers since a cleanser was not included in the kit, review to come. I will note that Biossance does have a cleanser which is a Squalane + Tea Tree Cleansing Gel. Want to try this one too!
Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel
I must say that I was a little skeptical about this eye gel at first. I don’t know why, maybe because I still sorta believe that clean products don’t work? I was wrong. It’s amazing. I also like that it is specifically formulated for both the lid and under the eye. It does have a gel-like consistency with a golden cloudy color, super light weight and absorbs pretty quickly. I saw a huge difference in reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, and the skin under my eyes looked brighter and overall hydrated. Highly recommend!
Active ingredients in this product include apple stem sell extract (brightens under-eye area), squalane (hydration) and eyeseryl + argireline (reduces puffiness and dark circles).
Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum
Where has this product been all my life?! I’ve been on the hunt for a good retinol based product that doesn’t irritate my skin! Typically the ones you get from your derm are way too intense, causing sensitivity and irritation. I can’t tell you how much I love this serum. The formula is light weight, comes out as a white gel-like cream and melts into your skin pretty quickly. It does have a slight (citrus?) smell to it, not intense so you do get used to it. I saw results on this stuff right away, maybe after a week of use? My skin looked smooth, glowy, and photoshopped #goals. I will say, that this was for sure, the MVP.
Active ingredients include bakuchiol/plant-based retinol (antioxidant and anti-inflammatory), hyaluronic acid (moisturizing and a binding agent), and squalane (hydration).
Squalane + Omega Repair Cream
This is a great, hard working, anti-aging light weight cream. It helps keep your skin smooth or more plump by supporting your natural moisture barrier. It’s packed with amazing ingredients which help make your skin look healthy. At first I was worried that this cream would be way too heavy. When you first apply it to your face, it is a little thicker than what I prefer, but after you start massaging it into your face it melts right on in — similar to the rest of their products. I just really love the way my skin feels after using this cream.
Active ingredients include acai berry (fights free radicals and delays signs of aging), hyaluronic acid (moisturizing and a binding agent), and omega fatty acids (supports hydration).
Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil (only at night)
Because this product was too heavy to layer on top of the cream in the AM, I reserved it for my PM routine. This is where the magic happened. This oil really helped even out my skins tone and texture. I typically have red or flushed skin, actually always thought it was mild rosacea but more likely product irritation. My skin looked fantastic when I woke up in the morning — plump, fresh faced, and just overall freakin’ good. I finally looked like what you see all over instagram, unblemished filtered skin. That. Was. Me! #WokeUpLikeThis, #NoFilter, ALL the things. I highly recommend checking out this product. I feel like this was a top contender for the MVP.
