Niacinamide/Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3)


What is Niacinamide?

Pronounced ˈnī-ə-ˈsi-nə-ˌmīd, is a compound of vitamin B3. Is a water-soluble ingredient, so that means it needs to be ingested or used topically to get the benefits.

What will it do?

Similar to Vitamin C it’s known to brighten the skin, helps calm sensitive skin, it’s used in anti-aging products, repairs the skin barrier and is known to help reduce acne (when ingested).

Tip

An ingredient to look into if you tend to have more flush or red skin, or may be having irritations from retinol. If you overuse this ingredient it could cause irritation.
