What is Vitamin A
Pronounced `vīdəmən a also known as retinol, is a go-to ingredient for topical anti-aging products. Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin that is stored in the liver. It’s found in animal products, such as meats, fish, poultry and diary, and is known as the Retinol form of Vitamin A. It can also be found in plants, like fruits and vegetables, which is then known as the Carotenoid form of Vitamin A.
What will it do?
Vitamin A is packed with antioxidants which help protect our skin against free radical damage (slows signs of aging). It can help rejuvenate new skin cells (stimulating collagen) making skin look more youthful and plump. It reduces winkles and fine lines by your skins texture more smooth. Vitamin A can also reduce the appearance of sun spots and prevent acne.
Tip
To make sure you do not irritate your skin, do not use products that contain Vitamin A (Retinol every day and gradually increase the strength (%) of Vitamin A (Retinol). 1% is considered high-strength.
