Sheet Mask Review: Salmon Aqua Firming Mask
OK… so I really wanted to like this Salmon Aqua Firming sheet mask by DMask, because I like to try new and weird ingredients. But stay far away from this mask!
This k-beauty sheet mask was one I picked up on my SE Asia travels, I believe in Singapore, and after further digging, realized it was one of those mass produced Alibaba stock masks. No bueno!
The mask serum contains 84% salmon egg extract (anti-aging), ceramide (retains moisture on your skin and protects against environmental irritants) and safflower (remove dirt and oil and prevents dryness and helps with inflammation in the skin) extract.
At first, I was incredibly impressed as to how hydrated my face looked and felt. I wouldn’t say the mask made my skin look or feel tighter. And the product itself didn’t absorb as well into my skin as what I would typically like — so wasn’t a huge fan. BUT two days later, my face exploded with acne, redness and a massive fucking rash on my forehead that has yet to disappear after a week. So if you ever come across this terrible product, please, stay away.
What I like About it
There is a lot of serum on the mask and leftover in the packet.
Serum had a soft jelly like texture.
Fresh scent, no fishy smell at all!
Skin looked very hydrated the next day, would recommend this mask for dry months.
What Don’t I like About it
Kept having to adjust the mask, slid a bit off the face during application.
The serum itself doesn’t absorb quickly into the skin. May be different for those who have dry skin.
I wouldn’t say my face looked firmer, may have to use multiple times to see those results.
Two days later my face totally broke out.
I developed a rash.
The rash has been visible for about a week now.
How to use
Cleanse and tone your face. Place the mask evenly on your skin. Remove mask after 10-20 minutes. Massage remaining serum into the face and neck.
